July 26th marks the anniversary of the passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) which prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in employment, access to state and local government services, public accommodations, transportation and telecommunications.
While significant progress has been made in addressing fundamental civil rights for the more than 50 million Americans living with disabilities, the basics of everyday life -- getting a job, accessing health care, finding housing and more -- are still out of reach for too many.
