EASTER SEALS FLORIDA Serving the Communities Along the Gulf Coast
Clinicians at our facility are compassionate and enthusiastic. Their priority is the needs of our clients. Our clinicians are highly qualified and specifically chosen to give the best experience possible during their clients recovery. Outcomes are our goal: Physical Therapy: Physical therapists at Easter Seals provide evaluations and ongoing therapy to enhance and restore function and mobility for individuals with neurological, developmental or orthopedic disabilities, and encourage independence at home, school, work, and in the community. They can also assist individuals in learning to use brace, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs and artificial limbs. Therapy focuses on improving strength, range of motion, balance, coordination and mobility. Speech Therapy: Speech therapists provide evaluations and ongoing treatment to enhance receptive and expressive communication, oral-motor skills, and feeding abilities. Therapy stimulates oral-motor development, strengthens receptive and expressive language development, enhances auditory processing, and/or improves phonological difficulties. Massage Therapy: Clinical Massage Therapy is manipulation of the muscles, tendons and fascia of the body in order to alleviate pain and restore functional abilities. Clinical Massage can stop local and referred pain symptoms by releasing muscle spasms and Trigger Points. All therapy is performed by a qualified state Licensed Massage Therapist that works with the individual to set objective, obtainable goals. Massage Therapy has proven itself to be a very effective treatment for helping all populations: pediatrics, geriatrics and athletes. Occupational Therapy: Occupational Therapy helps people improve their ability to perform everyday activities such as bathing, dressing and eating. For young children, it can help a child meet developmental milestones, especially during the first three years of life. Therapists create an individualized treatment program that builds and enhances skills, and teaches new ones such as holding objects, feeding or dressing one. Sometimes assistive technology is used to help a child with walking or talking; sensory motor rehabilitation can help calm and focus attention; fine motor skill development will help a child be able to use their hands. All these therapeutic services work to promote independence in self-care, play, social skills and, eventually prepare a child for school.
