Safeway Adds “Supporting Easter Seals” to Shoppers’ Grocery Lists

renda 100x100 gold"Easter Seals is the best in its class at doing things efficiently so that the dollars raised go directly to clients served by the organization."

Larree Renda, Executive Vice President, Chief Strategist and Administrative Officer, Safeway Inc. Chair, The Safeway Foundation

Safeway Inc., one of Easter Seals’ most generous corporate partners for over 27 years, devotes the month of April to raising money for Easter Seals in a coordinated company-wide fund raising drive.

Each April, Safeway stores raise funds to help children and adults with autism and other disabilities by asking shoppers to donate to Easter Seals, the largest non-profit provider of autism and disability services, and Special Olympics at checkout. The annual campaign coincides with April’s Autism Awareness Month and Easter Seals’ Act for Autism® efforts to raise awareness about the services and treatments the organization provides to families living with autism.

Last year Safeway and its customers raised over $7 million for Easter Seals affiliates in the Unites States and Canada!

Safeway has raised nearly $130 million to help Easter Seals create life-changing solutions so that people with disabilities can live, learn, work and play.

There are roughly 1,700 Safeway stores across the United States and Canada, operating under various brand names including Safeway (East Coast, Seattle, Portland, Northern California, Phoenix and Denver), Vons and Pavilions (Southern California and Nevada), Pak n' Save (Northern California), Dominick’s (Chicago), Randalls and Tom Thumb (Texas) and Carrs stores (Alaska).

Be sure to spread the word about this promotion to benefit Easter Seals -- and visit your local Safeway store!
