Easter Seals and Children with Disabilities Benefit from the CVS Caremark All Kids Can™ Program
CVS Caremark and the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust are making a tremendous difference in the lives of children with disabilities through the CVS Caremark All Kids Can™ Program, a multi-year, multi-million dollar commitment to make life easier for children with disabilities, which was first introduced in 2006. Through All Kids Can™, CVS Caremark and its private foundation are supporting programs and services in local communities to assure that children with disabilities learn, play and succeed in life; to provide health and medical rehabilitation services; to foster a heightened level of inclusion in schools, extracurricular programs and other areas of life; to build barrier-free play areas so children of all abilities can play side-by-side; and to create opportunities which deliver greater access to recreation and play. Easter Seals is honored to be one of three national nonprofit partners in the CVS Caremark All Kids Can™ Program. Through the partnership, CVS Caremark serves as the National Premiere Sponsor of Easter Seals’ Walk With Me event, engaging its more than 200,000 associates nationwide through support and participation, and raising more than $4.8 million since 2006. Additionally, the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust has provided Easter Seals with more than $1.3 million through the CVS Caremark All Kids Can™ Fund to support services in key CVS communities nationwide to assure that children with autism and other disabilities receive the critical services they need to learn and succeed in life. Last year, CVS Caremark's All Kids Can™ Fund gift provided much-needed support for professional development of Easter Seals staff to help Easter Seals enhance its delivery of intensive early intervention, using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, to produce substantial benefits for young children with autism. This training of behavior analysts at 12 Easter Seals affiliates nationwide promises to help ease the current shortage of behavior analysts and help meet the critical need for evidence-based services such as Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention or Treatment (EIBI) among families living with autism. Together, Easter Seals and CVS Caremark are making a significant difference in the lives of children with disabilities throughout the country, providing them with the resources and services they need to learn, play and succeed in life.
