Corporate Sponsors -- Bayer HealthCare

Corporate Sponsor - Bayer Consumer CareA division of Bayer Corporation, Bayer HealthCare is a leading manufacturer of over-the-counter medications. Since 1983, Bayer HealthCare has raised more than $6 million for Easter Seals with support from its extensive line of quality brands including Bayer Aspirin, Aleve, One-A-Day Multivitamins, Alka Seltzer and Phillips Milk of Magnesia.

From coast to coast, thousands of lives have been impacted through Bayer's support as these funds help Easter Seals provide quality services to children and adults with disabilities who, without this corporate support, may not have their needs met.

In Atlanta, two children are receiving a full year of inclusive child care at Easter Seals Child Development Center this year thanks to Bayer! One of these children, 5-year-old Zach, came to the Center at the age of 2 diagnosed with spina bifida and associated language and motor disabilities. After three years of intensive therapies at Easter Seals Child Development Centers, Zach has graduated from the preschool program at the Center and is entering kindergarten at his local public school next fall. He recently attended a speaking engagement with the CEO of Easter Seals North Georgia and addressed 6,000 people in English and Spanish; quite an accomplishment for a little boy who only a year earlier had difficulty speaking to his mother! What a promising future Zach now has... thanks to Easter Seals and Bayer HealthCare!

In North Carolina, Bayer's support has allowed Easter Seals to expand its children's therapy and family support services to children with disabilities and their families in the Metrolina area. More than 500 hours of respite care, 50 physical therapy sessions, 50 occupational therapy units and 50 speech therapy sessions became a reality for children with disabilities and their families throughout the state because of Bayer's generosity. The mother of a 6-year-old who was critically injured in a car accident and incurred traumatic head injuries receives Easter Seals services as a result of Bayer's support. "The doctors at the hospital saved our son's life, but it is Easter Seals therapists who are giving us back our Nathan," she said. Through Bayer's support, Easter Seals is able to provide Nathan with the physical, occupational and speech therapy he needs to live a better life.

In Washington, D.C., a 77-year-old widow is able to remain independent and live in the home in which she and her husband raised their family, as a result of Easter Seals day care services as well as its home-based occupational, physical, speech/language and low vision therapy services. One year of these Easter Seals services is possible through Bayer's support.

"Every year, Easter Seals celebrates millions of successes with those people with disabilities and their families whose lives are made better through the extensive services Easter Seals has provided to them," said Bayer HealthCare Consumer Promotions Director Leigh Peter. "We at Bayer are proud to celebrate these successes with them as well as we continue to partner with Easter Seals in creating solutions which change the lives of people with disabilities and their families throughout America."
