Textron Supports Easter Seals Rhode Island
$3,000 Grant to benefit the Assistive Technology and Sensory Integration Lending Library

Wakefield— Easter Seals Rhode Island announced today they have received a $3,000 grant from the Textron Charitable Trust, a private nonprofit foundation sponsored by Providence-based Textron Inc. Due to the generous grant, Easter Seals Rhode Island will now be able to create a therapeutic equipment library, allowing parents with infants and toddlers to utilize beneficial equipment at no cost.

Easter Seals Rhode Island provides therapeutic early intervention services to children from birth through age 3 who are born with a disability, development delay or other special needs. The therapeutic equipment provided by the grant will consist of special cranks that will allow children with disabilities to exercise their hands, audio cassettes to improve their word and sound association and special pads to help them sleep easier. In addition, the grant from the Textron Charitable Trust will provide much-needed training materials and equipment to be used during parent training sessions.

“We are extremely grateful for Textron’s support and the impact it will make in the lives of children,” said Larry Gammon, President & CEO Easter Seals Rhode Island. “This grant allows us to continue to provide exceptional treatment and program development to those families who need our services.”

The mission of Easter Seals Rhode Island is to provide exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities. Last year, Easter Seals Rhode Island served over 240 children through early intervention services.
