“Red, White & Brew” Event Raises Wakefield—Thanks to generous sponsors, wine and beer distributors, local restaurants and guests, the Easter Seals Rhode Island Red, White & Brew wine and beer pairing event, held recently at the Warwick Museum of Art, was a great success raising, over $18,000 to benefit children and young adults with special needs. A sold out crowd of over 125 people attended the event and enjoyed the pairings of delicious varietal wines and tempting appetizers. Guests enjoyed sipping select wines from a souvenir Riedel crystal wine glass and danced the night away to the smooth sounds of Matty B. and his saxophone. This year’s event was sponsored by Home Star Mortgage and 1149 Restaurant. Easter Seals Rhode Island is fortunate to benefit from yearlong partnerships with the following local companies: the Mews Tavern, Southern Rhode Island Newspapers, South County Orthopedics, United Healthcare, A Quick Tire, and Gallo Thomas Insurance. The live and silent auctions provided guests with an an assortment of great trips and packages to choose from including an African Safari for two, a wedding party package, “Sophisticated Gentleman’s” package of high end Cigar’s and Scotches ,and a “Grease Monkey” set of four tires/car maintenance package. Proceeds from the event benefit clients of Easter Seals RI, an organization committed to providing exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, work and play in their communities.
