The Providence Dancing Cop Dishes it Up at Friendly’s
To Support Easter Seals RI

Wakefield—In celebration of the 31st Annual Cones for Kids Campaign for Easter Seals, Tony Lepore, a.k.a. the Providence Dancing Cop, visited the Friendly’s of North Providence to serve up some ice cream to customers. The dancing cop scooped, danced, and whistled away to help raise awareness for the vital programs provided by Easter Seals RI, and also got the chance to introduce patrons to Celia Furtado, Easter Seals RI’s inspirational Child Ambassador.

Since 1981, Cones for Kids has been a winter tradition up-and-down the East Coast. Each year, employees across the restaurant chain help change the lives of thousands of children with disabilities through their efforts – raising more than $27 million to date.

Friendly’s offered restaurant guests the opportunity to purchase 5 Valentine’s Day cards, redeemable for free Friendly’s Kid Cones plus a $5 off a $25 purchase coupon for parents. The campaign ran through February 13, 2012.

The proceeds from this campaign support Easter Seals Camp Friendly’s programs that focus on building a sense of independence and accomplishment in campers. Camp Friendly’s provides an opportunity for kids with disabilities to be included in regular camp activities like, boating and canoeing, swimming, archery, ropes courses, horseback riding, hiking, basketball and fishing.

“I am thrilled to have had this opportunity to support Easter Seals RI and take part in Friendly’s 31st Annual Cones for Kids Campaign. I believe in the work Easter Seals is doing to help children in Rhode Island with special needs and disabilities,” said Tony Lepore, the Providence Dancing Cop.

Easter Seals RI is committed to providing exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, work and play in their communities.
