The Andre D’Auteuil Family Foundation Grants $5,000 to Easter Seals Rhode Island Pediatric Outpatient Program

Wakefield, RI – The Easter Seals Rhode Island Pediatric Outpatient Program was granted $5,000 from the Andre D’Auteuil Family Foundation in support of adaptive equipment.

The family-centered Pediatric Outpatient Program opened in October 2011 and provides pediatric outpatient therapy services for children and young adults, through age 21. The program offers physical, occupational and aquatic therapies, as well as group opportunities to help focus on developing a child’s ability to perform everyday living activities by enhancing or restoring function.

“The adaptive equipment purchased helps children and young adults become more independent, adjust to change, develop new skills, and play with their peers.” says Pat O’Leary, Easter Seals Clinical Supervisor. “With help from the Andre D’Auteuil Family Foundation the Pediatric Outpatient Program was able to purchase a new adaptive swing and tricycle, as well as a touch-screen computer and XBox Connect.”

Since 2003, the Andre D’Auteuil Family Foundation has been providing funds for medical and adaptive equipment for organizations and individuals with neurological disorders who cannot otherwise afford to purchase it on their own.

Easter Seals RI provides exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities. ESRI currently serves over 400 children and young adults throughout the state. To learn more about Easter Seals RI, visit www.eastersealsri.org.
