Volunteering

Help Easter Seals Create Solutions and Change Lives

We accept and encourage community participation in all of our program areas. Community volunteers are an important part of our agency. Many individuals share their experience and skills with our program consumers/participants. Literacy, technical, verbal and recreational skills are all brought to our participants by willing volunteers. This is a perfect place for retired individuals to share their knowledge and experinces with someone in need.

Volunteers are fully trained in the ways of communicating and interacting with our disabled population. Activities engaged in by volunteers are as varied as the unique personalities of the people we serve. Volunteers are matched in interest and pace with our consumers. Activities range from actual teaching/learning to simply spending leisure time together. Often it is merely the time with a person from the community that is most important, not so much what the activity is. Our consumers love to make friends and spend time with them. Isn't this true of all of us?
