Legislative Action

In New Mexico, ES SMEM has been highly involved in the legislative process that has affected thousands of individuals with disabilities and families by tasking a leadership role in the process. ES SMEM’s Executive Director has been chair of the legislative Committee for New Mexico’s provider organization, The Association of Developmental Disability Community Providers for over 20 years. Many important issues from the funding of early intervention and adult services to expanding and funding the waiting list and the passage of a certified medication aide program are examples of the legislative involvement of ES SMEM. |
