    Assistive Technology
Easter Seals is a powerful partner to have when students require the integration of assistive technology into their classrooms and homes. Easter Seals has been working with teachers, children, parents, advocates and therapists to ensure the best utilization of AT tools for bridging the gaps between both educational and personal goals and disabilities. Parents and students have shared their appreciation of Easter Seals, and we’ve responded with continued emphasis on individualized solutions. Our focus is on helping your child achieve happiness and independence through enhanced communication, education and socialization.
The Demonstration and Loan Regional Center allows you to try and borrow assistive technology before you choose a device to purchase.  This program is free to MA residents.

    School-To-Work Transition Planning
Students with disabilities face many obstacles as they make the transition from school to work. Researchers have identified lack of preparedness as a key factor influencing low employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities. Everyone, especially young adults, can appreciate how a job leads to independence. A coordinated transition plan helps students identify a job that brings them happiness and enrichment.

Easter Seals encourages parents to ask about vocational planning during their child’s IEP meetings and to help their child aim high.   Easter Seals is experienced in helping young adults with disabilities gain independence through employment that fits their skills and interests.  Our team has successfully collaborated with many school districts to help provide the transitional planning each student needs.

    Camp
Individuals with mild, moderate and severe physical disabilities aged 7 to 30 have the chance to enjoy typical summer camp activities side-by-side with able-bodied campers.

    Contract Rehabilitation Services
Easter Seals therapies help people with disabilities enhance their independence at home, school and in the community. Qualified professionals work with children who are experiencing or are at risk for developmental delays to optimize development and achieve the highest possible level of functioning.  Speech, occupational and physical therapy services are available from Early Intervention and Head Start programs through high school.
