BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Easter Seals Summer Explorers Camp Program provides overnight camp opportunities for youth with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities. Camp is in session from August 16-24, 2013 (with training dates) and is located in Rindge NH.
The position of Behavioral Management Specialist assists the Camp Youth Leadership Manager in the overall management of the camp. The position begins in May; part time - approximately 20 hours per week until the camp training session begins.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are currently seeking patient, energetic, and creative individuals to join our camp staff! We invite anyone age 16 or older to apply for a counselor position at our camp. Working at camp is a great way to build your resume and gain firsthand experience working with youth with autism and other developmental disabilities. Many camp staff are getting ready to begin careers working with youth, or people with disabilities, and former staff have shared that the experience of working at camp is extremely valuable, educational, and FUN!
Counselors will encourage campers to participate in the camp activities including: arts and crafts, activities, games, swimming, canoe trips, and more! Counselors are responsible for the primary care of the campers while they attend the 6-day overnight camp.
All camp staff will be required to attend training before they work with campers. Training begins August 16th and camp begins on August 18th. All staff will be required to commit to the 16th to the 24th.

The Camp Counselor is responsible for the direction, supervision and organization of campers in their group. Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers and staff. BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Camp Easter Seals UCP Virginia is located about forty five minutes northwest of Roanoke in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The camp offers children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy fun and challenging activities in a unique and supportive camp atmosphere. Our campers have a variety of disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and several other physical and cognitive disabilities. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy camp sessions may also be offered for children and teens. Our summer ends with a week for families that have a child with a disability. Counselors come from around the country and world to serve our campers. Many staff have described their experience at camp as “life changing!
To help contribute to our supportive environment we are seeking Camp Counselors for summer employment. Camp Counselors supervise and care for campers' personal needs as well as lead and assist campers with camp activities. They ensure that at all times their campers are safe and having fun.
