Services for children: Easter Seals provides individualized occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language therapy and specialized instruction for children six weeks - three years of age to children attending The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center in Washington, D.C. Our center follows an inclusive model in which classes are a combination of children with and without special needs and therapy is incorporated into the classroom. Maryland Assessable Telecommunications (MAT): Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA offers the Maryland Assessable Telecommunications Program in partnership with the state of Maryland. The program assists individuals with cognitive, speech, hearing or vision disabilities gain access to modified telephones, such as an amplified or caption. A participant must first meet each of the qualifications for the Maryland Accessible Telecommunications Equipment Distribution Program before being accepted into the Easter Seals MAT program:
Once accepted into the program by MAT staff in Baltimore, they will be given contact information for an Easter Seals staff member for the participant to setup an appointment for a phone assessment either in center or at home. When the phone is received by the participant the Easter Seals member will come to residence, if needed to help set up telephone. For more information, contact us or call 301.588.8700.
