Adult Day Services

Easter Seals groundbreaking Adult Day Services assist seniors and adults with a variety of health problems including physical disabilities, depression, and Alzheimer's disease.  The program, which can prevent premature nursing home placement, provides social, medical, recreational, rehabilitative, educational, and group activities, as well as health screenings.  It helps seniors remain independent while providing caregivers with much needed time off from caregiver responsibilities.

Easter Seals Adult Day Services offer programs and resources to help you provide the best possible care for your spouse, parent, adult child or another loved one who needs assistance with daily living.

Visit an Easter Seals adult day center and you'll find a safe group environment with coordinated health and social services. Qualified, dedicated staff offer a continuation of your high-standards of care.

Senior+ (Plus) Program

Senior+ is an inclusion program for seniors with mild disabilities and impairments that is located within a Senior Center setting. This program is a public/private partnership between Easter Seals and Fairfax County. The Senior+ participants are those who do not meet eligibility criteria for Adult Day Health Care Services, yet cannot fully engage in existing senior center activities.  Easter Seals’ Senior+ Program will serve seniors needing assistance enabling them to be fully involved in activities at senior centers with a goal to prevent further decline in their health.  The program is a transitional support bridging an existing gap at Fairfax County senior centers by giving them access to participate in the least restrictive environment.  There are seven Easter Seals Senior+ sites throughout Fairfax County.

Seniors to be admitted to the Senior+ Program are:
--Age 55 or above
--Residents of Fairfax County, City of Falls Church or City of Fairfax
--Require a higher level of assistance to participate in senior center activities, but are not ready for an Adult Day Health Care Program
--Those who can continue to interact socially with their peers with a minimal amount of additional support.
