Resources for Portraying People with Disabilities in the Media
People working in media can exert a powerful influence over the way people with disabilities are perceived. It's important to those living in the Bay Area with disabilities to be portrayed realistically and that their disabilities are explained accurately. We've provided some resources to help members of the media with their coverage of disability issues—from interviews with people with disabilities to facts about development disabilities, such as autism, to using respectful language in stories.
