Children and Family Services: Childcare and Early Education Services Head Start/Early Head Start: In partnership with Child-Parent Centers, we have provided Early Head Start (EHS) and Head Start (HS) services since 1998 and 2004 respectively. HS (center-based program) and EHS (home and/or center-based program) are designed to enhance children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development; assist pregnant women to access comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care; support parents to fulfill their parental roles; and help parents to move toward self-sufficiency. We provide evidence-based home visitation EHS services in Pima, Cochise, and Graham counties for 140 children, prenatal to age three. In addition, in Pima and Graham counties, we are the only provider of full–day, full-year EHS/HS center-based care (provided to 26 and 27 children respectively) in our nationally-accredited (NAEYC) early care and education centers. Early Care and Education Centers: We operate two high-quality, NAEYC-accredited early care and education centers. Children’s Achievement Center (Tucson) is a full-day, full-year program serving children eight weeks to five years of age and Palomita Children’s Center (Safford) offers full-day, full-year care for children aged one to five years. Each center provides a low child-to-staff ratio, research-based early learning curriculums, environments inclusive for children with special needs, and well-educated teachers, serving more than 150 total children annually.
