Historic Agreement Signed

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Easter Seals Dixon Center have announced an historic agreement that provides hiring professionals with the training necessary to dramatically increase veteran employment across U.S. industries.

The partnership was sealed with a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that represents the first formal agreement with another nonprofit by the largest association for HR professionals in the United States aimed at educating human resource professionals about the extensive skills and abilities that veterans bring to the workplace. Together our organizations will launch a pilot program in southern California to recruit, integrate, train, and retain veterans and military family members throughout the Southern California area.

Easter Seals Southern California, the California State Council of SHRM and the San Diego chapter of SHRM will work together to enact hiring pledges made by senior leaders and officials across the country to hire more veterans and military family members. But the SHRM-Easter Seals Dixon Center program goes beyond pledges and actually trains those doing the hiring to understand the value former service members bring to a civilian organization and the bottom line.
